Niykee who's had many a hectic few years which included being selected by Snoop to perform with him at the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee keeps a steady songwriting schedule even though she has been a bit busy. Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers she constantly combs through beats that are sent to her and discovers that a lot of them result in sparking ideas for songs. I'll know if a beat's excellent after just five seconds, and I'll have a song in my head, and I'll start writing immediately she says. The words come to me whenever I'm outside on the porch, playing my guitar. It usually takes under thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her talents as a writer and the lyricist. She notes how the pain she experienced in the past can be a sources of inspiration. When I'm not writing in a literal way about what has happened to me all the trauma of my childhood and the loss of my sister end up getting pushed into my songs, she states. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and adds a greater sense of meaning that I believe is extremely important. I'd like to be able listen to my music 20 years from now and feel proud of my words.
